Musical Genes

The community band had a concert last Friday evening. Jimmy, Kara and the girls came. As usual, Emma came and stood directly beside my chair for the entire concert. Maggie made a few appearances - for a kiss, just to say "hello", to show me her new shirt, but mostly she stayed with Popie and Mommy.

Emma likes to stand right beside me for some reason. I was thinking that maybe she was really interested in the clarinet and would want to play one someday. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. When asked later what instruments they would like to play, Maggie said she'd like to play the flute like Mommy. Emma was asked if she'd like to play the flute or maybe the clarinet, like Nana. "No", she said, "I want to be the Connuckter".
