The turkey was in the oven at 5:30 a.m. After hours of preparing everything and getting it all on the table at 1 p.m., it was all over by 1:20. It only took us 20 minutes to devour turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, cranberry-apple casserole (tart and sweet - dee-licous!) and rolls.
After washing the dishes, we waddled into the living room to regroup. Maggie and Emma entertained us with dance moves to a Donald Duck Christmas cd. I do believe they were original moves. The weather was so nice (76 degrees) we went out on the porch for awhile. When the wind started blowing really hard, we came back in. I think the temperature dropped 30 degrees in just an hour.
We still had pumpkin and apple pies waiting for us. Groan! But we are of hardy stock, so it didn't take us long to be ready to cut the pies and pile on the whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Yum!
This morning, I had pumpkin pie and whipped cream for breakfast! A real wake-me-up!
