A Novel Idea

It's been almost a year without a job and my health club membership ran out. I've been looking for something to occupy myself other than sitting and watching tv or (gulp!) housework. I'm still looking for work, but even the Va. Employment Commission isn't helping at all.

Someone invited me to a book review club that meets once a month. I went to the April meeting and had a very nice time. The ladies were funny and interesting. I thought this might be a nice interlude in an otherwise boring day. Well, I thought that until they decided on the next book. It wasn't the book itself, it was the price. I hadn't given any thought to the price. Did I expect to get a book without paying for it? No, not really. I just hadn't given it any thought.

I seldom buy books unless they are craft "how-to" books. I have tons of those. I wonder if they'd like to review one of those? Nah. Guess not. I'm going to search the library's database to see if I can get it from those stacks. If I can't, well, I guess I won't be going to the next meeting.

5 MINUTES LATER...

I searched online and actually found the book at the library! Yeah! I can go to the meeting next month. I'm actually excited! Think I'll run down and pick it up and start reading.
