Kara, Chris and the girls came over for Christmas. Before dinner, we opened presents. The girls had received the American Girl dolls from Grandma Pam and they were delighted with the clothes I had made for the dolls and especially the table and chairs that Jimmy had made.
The Razor Scooters were a big hit, too! "Just what I always wanted!" said Emma. "Me, too!" said Maggie, as they scooted into the kitchen, tv room and back into the living room.
They had received a Wii from Santa, complete with the Music Wii, the games Wii and the Fitness Wii. We played Wii all afternoon, until they left to go to Granddaddy's. Happily, they left the Wii with us while they were gone!
Dinner was ham, green bean casserole (what would we do without that green bean casserole!) and sweet potato casserole. Apple and cherry pies for dessert. Emma and I also had the roof of the gingerbread house for dessert. No one else wanted any. That's strange. Why wouldn't they want a nice piece of gingerbread roof? It wasn't THAT hard.
When all the wrappings had been discarded, boxes flattened for next year's use and the dishes washed and put away, we did what we always do every year:
We declared this was the best Christmas EVER!!!
