Flyin' High!

Today was beautiful. The sun was shining and the temperature was around 65. Spring is finally coming.

I decided to go to the dollar store and see if they had any kites for kids. Ah, yes! I bought two and then went to the school to walk before the kids got out at 3 o'clock. The girls were excited when I told them I'd gotten each a kite.

When we got home the wind was whipping around, so we hurried into the house and set up the kites. They ran outside and we looked for a safe spot for kite flying - no overhead wires, no kite-eating trees. Hmmmm... lots of wires and lots of hungry trees. We finally decided that trees were better than wires and set up shop out in the old garden.

I was the kite holder and tosser. We managed to get the kites up and the wind took over. They ran around in circles and had a great time. Somehow I managed to get a few pictures, but it wasn't easy. The wind would whip that kite up, down, around and then crash it into the ground in just a few seconds!

The looks on their faces was well worth the $2 spent! At most, they managed to get their kites up about 6 to 8 feet. I didn't try to fly the kites for them because I knew they were happy just as things were. Everyone is looking forward to tomorrow.

Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain.
