We were missing a few of our family members this year. Justin and Nicole were in New Jersey with her extended family. We'll get them back next year. Maggie and Emma got to sit at the big table (it only seats six) and they really enjoyed it. We had steak and shrimp, coleslaw, cranberry/apple casserole, baked potatoes and carrot cake with ice cream for dessert. After stuffing ourselves we waddled into the living room to open the gifts.
Maggie and Emma were very excited when they opened their V-tech laptop computers. These little laptops are perfect for kids. There are about 70 pre-programmed learning games and it included two different cartridges with more wonderful stuff. There are also other cartridges you can buy. These laptops came with carrying cases. Maggie kept telling me that this was the best present she'd every received. Then she opened her art set. Now she couldn't make up her mind which was best. I told her that they both were the best but for different reasons. She laughed and said "That's what Mama said!"
I don't think Emma looked at the art set very much. She was way into the laptop, figuring out how it worked and already playing the games.
It was fun to sit back and watch them with their new toys. It's also very sad to see them growing up so quickly.
Maggie summed up the whole day: "This is the best Christmas, ever!"
