I've been busy since we heard about the new baby coming in December. Not knowing if it's a boy or girl has limited me to yellow, green and white. That's ok, though! I made a waffled yellow and white striped baby afghan, a yellow and white outfit, a pale green outfit, a yellow hippo, a multi-colored fish and a pink (that's the only color I had left) teddy bear. I want to smock some layette gowns, too. I can make more gender specific items after the precious one is born.
Justin is having problems with names for boys. I'm sure he'll come up with just the right one. I don't know too many people who were sorry about the names they chose for their children. Everyone seems happy with their choices, so I'm sure he and Nicole will be happy with their choice. I like using family names. Too bad our family had such odd names. My dad's name was Earl. Jimmy's dad was Wilfred. Earl Wilfred was not an option for our son's name. I'm sure he'll agree! My mother was Dorothy and his mother's name was Marguerite. Dorothy Marguerite just didn't fit the bill for our daughter, either. Again, I'm sure she agrees.
Emma plans on naming her first baby "Pack-Pack". (That's what she called a backpack when she was a toddler.) Maybe she'll change her mind later. We all hope so.
While thinking of family names, I got out the family tree book and started looking at the family names. The Rudacille line comes from Switzerland. They have a lot of crazy names: Hans, Thomman, Cleophe, Adolf, Jorg, Weyrich, Heinrich, Johann, Jakob, Ederias, Ruff.
The Lett family names include: Miles, Marriott, Pennington, Swepson, Brackett, Bartholomew, Hopkins, Isham, Spencer, Fleming, Zachariah, Curtis, Churchwell, Claiborne, Hutchings, Hardaway, Drury, Green, Chesley, Thaddeus.
The Moseley side includes: Mortimer Buckner (my great-great grandfather), Hunter, Weldon. The rest of the names are the common ones - John, Benjamin, Edward, Thomas - you know - the "normal" names.
When we were expecting our first baby, we told everyone that we were naming a girl "Daisy". After they mentally said "Daisy Neitzey" they would look at us like we were crazy! We always got a good laugh out of everyone. I don't think we actually decided on the babies' names until a few weeks before they were born.

I can't believe you made all that stuff within three weeks! I can't wait to see it all.
I was reading the names to Nicole and she said, "Those are last names."
No, those aren't last names. They are actual first names of all our ancestors.
