Bambi

The little spotted fawn, "Bambi", is still out by the edge of the bushes calling and waiting for its mother. It's eating leaves, so we're hoping that it will be ok by itself. Do does accept orphaned fawns? Am I just hoping against all hope that a doe will see this baby and decide to take care of it? There certainly are enough deer around here.

Several years ago, we had an abandoned fawn down by the pond. The poor little thing didn't make it. It was a newborn and seriously needed its mother. What happened to her? Was she killed?

As much as I dislike it when the deer eat my flowers or when they ate our garden years ago, I feel so sad when something like this happens.
