Life's Lessons

There are some lessons that life teaches us. Sometimes these lessons are hard to learn, but I've discovered that if you persevere and study hard you'll finally get it. Just reading the rules doesn't always prepare you for the test. I think that you have to actually live through some of them to understand the purpose.

1. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck.
2. All that glitters is not gold.
3. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
4. To err is human, to forgive is divine.
5. Don't pick up a snake.
6. Birds of a feather stick together.
7. Measure twice, cut once.
   
8. Beauty is only skin deep.
9. You can't take it with you.
10. Look before you leap.
11. A miss is as good as a mile.
12. Here today, gone tomorrow.
    

Some of these lessons I learned a long time ago. Some are more recent. Some I may never learn because I am hopelessly optimistic.
