We've had a bad leak in the ceiling of the back room for ages. Jimmy has tried many times to fix it but it never stays fixed. The leak in the hallway seems to be fixed, as it hasn't leaked in about two years. The bathroom ceiling leaks sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. It didn't leak for about a year, so I went ahead and fixed the bad spots and repainted the walls. That lasted about six months and it started to leak again. The odd thing was, it leaked behind the paint on the wall, not the ceiling! The paint bulged out like a water blister - I guess that's what it was - a blister. I've never seen that before!
To protect my valuable crafting supplies, I decided to move the bed out of the yellow room and move my crafting stuff in. It took me four hours this morning to do it. At first it wasn't so bad - the windows were open and I had a fan in one blowing cool air in. Then the rain started and I had to close the windows because it was raining into the room. Rats! Now the back room ceiling was really leaking. It was as if someone was on the roof with a water hose poked down into the room.
I had to empty the drawers of all kinds of stuff, move the cabinets and reinsert the drawers, then fill the drawers again. There were lots, I mean lots, of dead ladybugs in everything! Dead wasps and flies, too. I put one shelf unit in the closet and it holds a lot of stuff I don't use very often. The other shelf unit holds my papers, stamps and Cricut stuff. I set the file cabinets up along side the computer table and put the glass top across them. That's very handy while working on the computer, too. I put the iMac on the dresser and filled the dresser drawers with supplies. The tv is plugged in, so I'm ready to roll!
Two computers, three printers, tv, internet, fax, Cricut, two fans, comfy desk chair - hey! not bad! Jimmy said the only thing missing was "money"! That would be nice, too!
The only bad thing to happen was the breaking of my grandmother's vase. It had been broken before I got it so I was always careful to keep it safe. Until today, that is. I set it back up on the credenza but the flowers in it had shifted and all the weight was on the front side and it just flipped over while my back was turned! It's in nine pieces. Hopefully, I can glue it back. She had written "H.S. Aug 10, 1944" on the back of it. Mom told me that she thought someone had given Mama that vase with flowers in it.
