Fall House Cleaning

I've started my fall house cleaning. I managed to get the kitchen and back porch windows washed and put back together. I'm running out of time today because I have to go pick up the girls from school. The laundry is on the line and I've vacuumed the TV room - behind the sofa, even! I still have to iron the kitchen curtains and get them back up.

I spilled almost an entire bottle of window cleaner on the kitchen floor. By the time I used lots of paper towels to clean it up, the floor was pretty clean. I'm going to use that as "floor washing". I can check that off my list. I then used the sopping wet paper towels to finish washing the windows. Check that off my list, too.

One year, while washing windows, I accidentally bumped the vacuum cleaner and it rolled right into the window that I had propped up against the wall. Lots of glass on the carpet. No glass in the window. Jimmy had to put new glass in the window. That was the cleanest window in the house.

I figure by the time I get the six bedroom windows cleaned, their curtains washed and rehung, and the six remaining downstairs windows cleaned, curtains washed and rehung, I'll be finished with the window washing part of Fall House Cleaning for 2003. I never said I was doing Fall House Cleaning 2008. I'm only about five years behind schedule.

I hope to have the rest of it done by spring.
