I read in the newspaper this morning about a death row inmate who was executed by lethal injection in a Florida prison. The only problem was that it took him over 30 minutes to die. It was reported that at one point, well into the execution, he grimmaced and was still trying to breathe. They injected him again and after about 34 minutes he finally died. His mother was, understandably, upset with the officials for putting him through that torture. He suffered unnecessary pain and agony, his attorney said. I wonder if a lawsuit is poking its little head up.
I don't care what the pros and cons of execution are. I don't care about his pain and suffering. I was thinking about his victim. HE suffered unnecessary pain and agony. HE suffered torture. The execution was the inmate's turn to experience what he did to another person.
